While the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Spanish Steps and
St Peter’s Basillica are amongst the most famous attractions
in the city (and we would hate to think you would come all
the way to Rome and not see them!), we decided to suggest
some lesser known but just as fascinating places of interest
to at to your itinerary.
Pay a visit to the Bocca della Veritá, which is believed
to date back to the 1st century and depicts a pagan god. Legend
has it that if you place your hand in the hole and tell a
lie it will be bitten clean off! Will you risk “The
Mouth of Truth”?
Bioparco is Rome’s zoo, and makes for a nice day out,
especially for the children! Founded in the early 20th century,
Bioparco has had some success at breeding in captivity some
species close to extinction. If you want a day off from classical
art and architecture, this is it! |
